Valerie (violin)

Born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Valerie has been playing musical instruments and singing since she was a small child. Valerie studied violin and fiddle with Christina Smith and Jennifer Johnson, as well as guitar and piano with her sister Jean Hewson.
For many years, Valerie taught violin privately and in group settings as a faculty member of the Suzuki Talent Education Program, and then acted as Artistic Director from 2017-2021.

Active in the local music scene, Valerie performs with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, but most gigs include playing for weddings, as well as other private and public events. She has played with Rod Stewart, opened for Billy Talent and Dropkick Murphys.
In her spare time…she works as a Holistic Gut Health Nutritionist with her own business, Validated Nutrition, out of Dynamis Health Centre.

Steve (guitar)

Born and raised in Grand Falls-Winsor, Newfoundland, Steve Finn has been playing guitar for over 20 years and has been teaching privately for 3 years.
He has been playing in various bar bands since the age of 19 and more recently original projects, such as Cereal Milk.
Additional stage credits include playing at the Arts & Culture Centre and Holy Heart with Craig Sharpe and Friends, opening for Alanis Morissette at Churchill Park Music Festival with Paige Penny, the Dana Parsons Project and various tribute shows from Lady Gaga to Shania Twain.
